DenDen is a messenger for a closed circle. Anyone you are not connected with cannot find you or message you. Messages and calls are encrypted on your phone.

How you get in
Three steps, and none of them needs your phone number.
Get an invite
Someone in your family gives you an invite code, or you buy an access code in the shop. Without a code, nobody gets in.
Arrive in the circle
You enter the code in the app and create your account. You connect with each other through your friend codes. No address book is uploaded, nobody is suggested to you.
Write and call
Chats and voice calls are end-to-end encrypted, also between iPhone and Android.
What DenDen never does
Nophone number
DenDen does not ask for one. Not for an email address either.
Nocontact upload
Your contacts stay on your phone. There is no public directory and no way to search for people.
Noads, no trackers
The app has no ads, no trackers and no analytics software. Neither does this website.
Nostrangers
Nobody can find you or message you unless the two of you connected with a code.
Security in plain words
DenDen encrypts with MLS (Messaging Layer Security), an open standard from the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force), published as RFC 9420. Your message is encrypted on your phone and only becomes readable again on the other person's phone. Our server stores messages and calls in encrypted form only.
What holds
- Messages and voice calls are end-to-end encrypted.
- The server runs in Frankfurt (Fly.io, region fra). It receives and stores content only in encrypted form.
- There is no phone number, no email address and no address book for it to know.
- Our server does not store IP addresses, neither in its database nor in logs.

FAQ
Do I need a phone number?
No. DenDen needs neither a phone number nor an email address.
How do I join a circle?
With an invite code from someone in your family or an access code from the shop. You connect with the others through your friend codes. There is no way to search for people and no public directory.
Can I call from iPhone to Android?
Yes. Encrypted voice calls work between iPhone and Android.
Where are my messages kept?
Readable only on your phones. Our server runs in Frankfurt (Fly.io). It holds messages waiting for delivery only in encrypted form and cannot read them. It does not store IP addresses. The privacy policy lists exactly which data is kept where.
How do I get the Android app?
Soon right here on the website as a signed APK file, not through Google Play. The file is not published yet. The Android page already shows the signing certificate fingerprint.
How do I pay?
In the shop, with USDC (Polygon, Base or Ethereum), Bitcoin, Ether or USDT (Tron). You get a code that adds 30 or 365 days of access. Codes stack. Family invites from an existing member are free.

25 languages. This website is in German and English.
